Preliminary Program

Workshops:
Workshops will take place on Monday the 8th of November, Tuesday the 9th of November and Friday the 12th of November. Workshops will start at 09:00 and will conclude at 17:00. After the Monday and Tuesday workshops there will be a “meet-and-greet” at 18:00. For workshop details go to the Workshops page.

Main conference:
Opening: 10 November 2010 at 09:00
End: 12 November 2010 at 11:30

Wednesday 10 November:
  • Conference opening by Dr. Theuns Eloff, Vice-Chancellor North-West University.
  • Plenary sessions by Professor Robert Engle and Professor Peter Hall
  • Parallel sessions for presentations.
  • Welcome reception and cocktail party.
Thursday 11 November:
  • Young Statisticians Breakfast
  • Plenary session by Professor Michael Greenacre and Professor Winfried Stute.
  • Parallel sessions for presentations.
  • Conference dinner at Feather Hill Spa, with a musical performance by Laurika Rauch.
Friday 12 November:
  • Plenary session by Professor David Mason
  • Parallel sessions for presentations.
  • Closing ceremony.

Note to speakers

Speakers will have 20 minutes for the presentations, which includes the discussion time. A data-projector and laptop, as well as an overhead projector will be available for presentations. All computers in the lecture halls will have Microsoft Office 2007 as well as a .pdf Reader.

Please note that no papers will be included in the program unless full payment for the speaker has been received by 24 September 2010.

Presenters are responsible for saving their presentations on the provided equipment prior to the start of the session in which they have to present. NWU personnel will be available to provide technical assistance, e.g., copying of presentations from memory sticks or CDs.
